Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Tomáš Petříček had talks with President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Speaker of the National Assembly Ivica Dacic with whom he discussed promotion of cooperation between the two countries in separate meetings in Belgrade.

In the talks, President Vucic and Minister Petříček discussed opportunities for investments, increase of trade in goods and numerous projects in various areas of interest for the two countries.

On this occasion, the President said that the economic cooperation between our countries would contribute to mitigating as soon as possible the serious economic consequences of the pandemic by joint action on future projects, which would improve people's quality of life.

President Vucic emphasized that Serbia became one of the countries with the best conditions for foreign investors, owing to the fact that it was politically stable and that it had an extraordinary team of experts who had worked hard to create an exceptional investment climate.

Prime Minister Brnabic thanked the Czech Republic for its support in the integration process, as well as for its commitment to stronger regional cooperation, primarily through the activities of the Visegrad Group.

The Prime Minister said that Serbia was on the European path while being committed to the reform processes in the area of the rule of law, and expressed confidence that the new accession methodology would enable better valorization of the achieved results.

Speaker of the National Assembly Ivica Dacic expressed his readiness to strengthen ties between the two parliaments, informing his interlocutors about the activities and priorities in the work of the National Assembly and its role in the reform processes.

Parliament Speaker Dacic and Minister Petříček agreed when it comes to intensifying contacts and visits of parliamentary friendship groups and parliamentary committees, as well as that visits should be organized at the level of the Speakers of Parliaments.

Minister Petříček pointed out that he was convinced that businessmen would find room for the enhancement of cooperation, as well as for investments and realization of new projects, and emphasized that bilateral cooperation between Serbia and the Czech Republic was based on a developed trade in goods and growing Czech investments.

The Minister expressed the support of the Czech Republic in the process of European integration, emphasizing that this country was strongly committed to the enlargement of the European Union.

It was noted that regular meetings between officials were of exceptional importance for the promotion of cooperation, but also that the relations between our countries were always close, friendly and without open issues.
